Terms of Service
1. About the Service
shelf.coffee ("Service") is a strictly digital web platform (Software as a Service) for guided coffee brewing recipes operated from Brazil. The Service does not sell, ship, or distribute physical coffee beans, equipment, or any other tangible goods. By using the Service you agree to these Terms. Contact: privacy@shelf.coffee.
2. Your account
Some features require sign-in via OAuth (Google, currently). You are responsible for keeping the credentials of the linked account safe. We do not store local passwords; authentication is delegated to the chosen provider.
You must be of legal age in your jurisdiction to enter into a contract.
3. Free plan and Pro plan
The Service offers a free tier ("Free") with usage limits and a paid tier ("Pro"). Current limits and prices are at /pricing. We may change limits and prices with reasonable advance notice; changes do not apply retroactively to periods already paid.
4. Payment and billing
Pro plan payment is processed by Paddle.com Market Limited ("Paddle") acting as Merchant of Record. Paddle is responsible for payment processing, billing, applicable tax collection (including VAT, GST, and local equivalents), and receipts.
By subscribing you authorize Paddle to charge the selected payment method for the chosen plan amount and its automatic renewals until cancellation.
Upon successful payment processing by Paddle, the Pro features are delivered digitally and made available in your account immediately. No physical shipping is involved in any transaction.
5. Digital delivery
Access to the Service is provided exclusively via the internet. No physical fulfillment or shipping is required. Your subscription is activated instantly upon confirmation of payment.
6. Cancellation and refunds
You can cancel your Pro subscription anytime at /me/plan. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the paid period. Refunds follow our Refund Policy.
7. User content
You retain all rights to the data you add to the Service (brews, coffee catalog, equipment, notes). You grant the Service a non-exclusive, royalty-free license solely to store, process, and display this data to you within the Service.
You are responsible for ensuring registered content does not violate third-party rights or applicable laws.
8. Acceptable use
The following is prohibited: (i) attempting to bypass plan limits via client manipulation, (ii) accessing other users' data, (iii) intentionally overloading the Service, (iv) using the Service for unlawful purposes. Violation may result in termination without notice and without refund of remaining balances.
9. Limitation of liability
The Service is provided "as is". We do not warrant uninterrupted availability or freedom from errors. We are not liable for (i) indirect losses, lost profits, or consequential damages; (ii) decisions made based on displayed recipes; (iii) outages of third-party providers (Cloudflare, Supabase, Paddle). Our total liability is capped at the amount you paid in the last 12 months.
10. Suspension and termination
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms. You may terminate your account anytime by requesting deletion at privacy@shelf.coffee.
11. Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms. For material changes we'll notify via the Service interface with reasonable advance notice. Continued use after the changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
12. Governing law and venue
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federative Republic of Brazil. Venue is the courts of the consumer's domicile, except where the consumer chooses the courts of their own domicile under the Brazilian Consumer Defense Code.
