Refund Policy
1. 14-day money-back guarantee
You can request a full refund within 14 calendar days from the first Pro charge, no justification required. Applies to both monthly and annual plans. Upon processing the refund, your Pro digital access will be revoked, and your account will return to the Free tier features.
2. After the 14-day window
After this period we do not refund payments already processed, but you can cancel auto-renewal anytime at /me/plan. You retain Pro access until the end of the paid period.
3. Pro-rated refunds
We do not issue pro-rated refunds for unused time. Example: if you subscribe annually and cancel after 3 months, you keep Pro for the remaining 9 months — but there is no refund for those 9 months.
4. How to request
Email hey@shelf.coffee with:
- Account email
- Approximate subscription date
- Reason (optional, but helps us improve)
We process the request via Paddle (our Merchant of Record) for the digital subscription service within 5 business days. Funds return to the same payment method used, plus the issuing bank's processing time (typically 5 to 10 business days).
5. Auto-renewals
If you forgot to cancel and were charged for a software renewal:
- Monthly renewal: evaluated case-by-case, generally granted if requested within 7 days of the charge.
- Annual renewal: evaluated case-by-case, generally granted if requested within 14 days of the charge.
6. Exceptions
We do not issue refunds when:
- The account was suspended or terminated for breach of the Terms of Service
- There are signs of fraud (multiple chargebacks, guarantee abuse)
7. Right of withdrawal (Brazilian CDC Art. 49)
Under the Brazilian Consumer Defense Code, consumers domiciled in Brazil have the right to withdraw from a contract within 7 calendar days when the service is purchased online, with full refund. This right is cumulative with (not a substitute for) the 14-day window above.
